Tyrese Spicer scores in stoppage time to rally Orlando City to 3-3 draw with Minnesota United

ST. PAUL, Minn. (AP) — With three minutes remaining in the second half, Orlando City's Tyrese Spicer scored a stoppage time goal, salvaging a dramatic 3-3 draw with Minnesota United after they had trailed 2-0 at halftime. Spicer's equalizer came courtesy of assists from newcomer Antoine Griezmann and Iván Angulo, marking his career-high sixth goal for the match.

Minnesota United took the lead in the 28th minute through Daryl Dike, who began his season with a goal in his first start and fourth appearance. Griezmann doubled Orlando's advantage in the 64th minute, his fourth goal in his seventh MLS appearance. Minnesota equalized in the 71st minute when Kelvin Yeboah and Kyle Duncan set up Marcus Caldeira for his second goal of the night, giving the visitors a 2-2 tie.

Defender Anthony Markanich scored his sixth goal of the season three minutes later, assisted by Joaquín Pereyra, to level the score at 2-2. Yeboah then put Minnesota ahead with a goal just one minute later, giving the team a 3-2 lead. Drake Callender made two crucial saves for Minnesota United, who were fresh off a 5-1 win over the San Jose Earthquakes and had played three games in August.

Maxime Crépeau made five saves for Orlando City, marking their first appearance in St. Paul since 2023, and finished the month with a 1-2-2 record.
