Toxic Box Office Collection Day 4 Updates: Yash film crosses Rs 250 crore mark

On the fourth day of its box office run, Yash's film Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-Ups continued to be at the forefront, but its collections fell sharply after its record-breaking opening. On Day 4, the movie gathered Rs 24.50 crore in net collections across 17,612 shows in India, according to trade tracker Sacnilk. This brought the film's total India gross collection to Rs 227.50 crore, with a net collection of Rs 190.45 crore. The worldwide collection stands at Rs 254.75 crore.

The Kannada version of the film performed moderately, with an overall occupancy of 47.23% on Day 4, while the Hindi version had an occupancy of 26.19%. Toxic premiered on August 26, 2022, breaking records with a net collection of Rs 101.10 crore in India. However, the film faced a significant decline in collections over the subsequent days.

Reactions to the movie have been mixed. While some viewers commended Yash's screen presence, as well as the film's visuals and action sequences, others criticized its writing, pacing, and length. This has led to significant debate surrounding the movie since its release.

Despite the mixed reviews, an artist and director named Rishab Shetty came forward in support of Toxic. In a post on X, he praised Yash's performance and the film's attempt to explore an unconventional storyline. Shetty acknowledged the difficulty in portraying such complex emotions and held Yash accountable for his larger-than-life portrayal. He also praised Yash for his efforts to bring Kannada cinema to the global stage and wished director Geetu Mohandas and the team at KVN Productions well.
