Two Brothers From Virar Drown In Tansa River Near Akoli Hot Springs In Bhiwandi, Family Devastated

In a devastating incident, two minor brothers from Virar lost their lives in the Tansa River near Akoli hot springs on Sunday, leaving their family in deep sorrow. The deceased were identified as 13-year-old Arun Ram Bachchan Chauhan and his 10-year-old sibling, Ayush Ram Bachchan Chauhan. The family had traveled to Akoli for religious purposes, aiming to bathe in the hot-water kund and take a holy dip.

After their ritual bath, the family ventured to the Tansa River bank to spend time together. Unfortunately, the two brothers ventured into the water, moving towards deeper sections of the river, likely drawn by the strong current and changing depths. While the mother of the children reportedly went to purchase essentials, their father was busy cleaning the autorickshaw.

Upon realizing the boys were missing, the parents alerted authorities. Local youths swiftly initiated a search operation, recovering the bodies after approximately an hour. Tragically, both brothers had inhaled a significant amount of water and were unresponsive upon rescue. The family is now in mourning, with relatives expressing their grief over the loss of the young boys.

The Ganeshpuri Police took custody of the bodies and initiated a panchnama for legal proceedings. This unfortunate incident has once again highlighted the risks associated with visiting riverbanks near popular religious and tourist spots, where strong currents and sudden depth changes can pose grave dangers to visitors, especially children.
