Three mobile phone snatchers arrested; four phones, cash and scooter recovered

On August 27, a 21-year-old man named Ajmal Khan filed a complaint with the Subramanyapura Police Station, alleging that he was targeted by three men while riding his bike in Kumaraswamy Layout. Khan said the accused allegedly waylaid him near Singapura Garden, assaulted him, and stole ₹4,000 before fleeing the scene.

The police registered a case under Section 309(4) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and began an investigation. During their probe, they apprehended three men - Sheikh Maj, 25, Syed Afreedulla, 21, and Mohammed Sadiq, 21 - on August 28. The accused have been linked to multiple theft and robbery cases in the past, with registrations at various police stations in Bangalore, including J.P. Nagar, Koramangala, Pulakeshinagar, Thalaghattapura, and Suryanagar.

Following the arrests, the police recovered four mobile phones, ₹1,000 in cash, and a scooter, worth around ₹1.5 lakh in total. The investigation into the case has revealed a pattern of involvement in several snatching and theft incidents.
