Akhilesh Yadav Promises To Reopen Schools Shut During BJP Rule In UP If Samajwadi Party Returns To Power Ahead Of 2027 Elections

Lucknow: Samajwadi Party president Akhilesh Yadav announced on Sunday that schools shut during the BJP government in Uttar Pradesh would reopen if the SP returned to power ahead of the 2027 Assembly elections. Addressing the media at the party headquarters, Yadav emphasized that people from backward, Dalit, and minority communities studied in government schools and would receive their due share in government according to their population under an SP administration.

He questioned Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath's claim of providing one lakh jobs in the remaining months of the current government, asking how much time is left to fulfill the promise. Additionally, Yadav announced an SP government would conduct an audit of the Public Works Department (PWD) to expose alleged corruption and poor infrastructure.

He criticized the BJP for allegedly stealing donation money at a temple, calling them "adharmi" and "dharmdrohi," and accused them of committing crimes in Uttar Pradesh. Yadav also raised concerns over law and order, alleging that criminals from other states were coming to the state to commit crimes, and accused BJP leaders of corruption, including selling adulterated petrol and increasing the price of sugar around festivals.
