Stop attacking IEBC and present alternative development agenda-Kindiki tells opposition

Deputy President Kithure Kindiki addressed the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC), urging it not to be intimidated by politicians sensing defeat. He emphasized that IEBC is legally obligated to carry out its duties impartially. Kindiki encouraged the opposition not to focus on attacking IEBC and instead present their own development agenda to Kenyans.

He highlighted President Ruto's impressive record in various sectors, such as infrastructure, education, health, agriculture, and more, which would contribute to his re-election rather than political favors. The Deputy President reassured the public that the government trusts IEBC to conduct free, fair, and verifiable elections without external influence.

He warned that those inciting violence against opponents will face severe consequences, drawing parallels with the successful crackdown on banditry and terrorism. Kindiki challenged opposition leaders to create their development plans instead of resorting to violent methods that could jeopardize the country's peace. He listed the government's achievements in the past four years, including significant infrastructure projects, agricultural subsidies, education, and health reforms, and vowed to continue these efforts before the 2027 elections.
