High drama unfolds as youth congress workers protest outside BJP office demanding Shah’s resignation

A large protest erupted outside the Bharatiya Janata Party's State headquarters in Malleswaram on Sunday, with hundreds of Youth Congress workers demanding Union Home Minister Amit Shah's resignation. They were protesting against the use of force against students who were demonstrating over alleged irregularities in the NEET examination held on July 20 in New Delhi.

The demonstrators chanted slogans against the BJP and Mr. Shah, and attempted to breach the office's security barriers. Police presence was high, with barricades erected to prevent the protesters from entering the BJP office. Tension was palpable as the protesters pushed against the barricades and blocked the surrounding road, causing traffic disruption.

Police forcefully removed the demonstrators and placed hundreds in preventive custody, though they were later released. Indian Youth Congress National Secretary Tariq Bagawan and other Youth Congress leaders and students took part in the protest. The group accused the police of using caning to disperse the protesters in New Delhi, while Karnataka Pradesh Youth Congress Committee President H.S.

Manjunath condemned the police action, calling it a breach of the constitutional right to peaceful protest. He alleged that the lathi charge against the Youth Congress workers was aimed at silencing their voice.
