Sindh CM Murad says govt alone can’t tackle healthcare challenges

Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah emphasized on Saturday that addressing healthcare challenges in Sindh cannot be done by the government alone. He highlighted the need for collaboration, innovation, and a collective commitment to public welfare at the inauguration of the new 11-storey Cardiac Wing at Saifee Hospital. Shah described the facility as a "landmark investment" in saving lives and a significant addition to Karachi's healthcare infrastructure.

The wing, built under the guidance of Dawoodi Bohra community leader Syedna Mufaddal Saifuddin, provides advanced cardiovascular diagnosis, treatment, surgery, intensive care, and rehabilitation services. Shah witnessed the facility's various sections, including medical equipment, cardiac care services, diagnostic systems, and treatment facilities.

He congratulated the Dawoodi Bohra community, hospital trustees, and medical professionals, emphasizing the project's benefits for Karachi and patients across Pakistan. Shah praised the modern and advanced cardiac hospital, noting its potential to significantly strengthen specialized healthcare services in the province. He stressed that cardiovascular disease remains a major health challenge, and timely, specialized care can be the difference between life and death.

The chief minister appreciated the construction quality and advanced facilities, highlighting Sindh's existing cardiac network, which includes the National Institute of Cardiovascular Diseases, Sindh Institute of Cardiovascular Diseases, 10 cardiac hospitals, 29 Chest Pain Units, 14 Cath Labs, and nine cardiac operating theatres for a total of around 2,100 beds.

Federal Finance Minister Senator Muhammad Aurangzeb praised the Dawoodi Bohra community's contribution to Pakistan's social and economic development, calling the new cardiac facility a valuable gift to Karachi. He emphasized that national progress should prioritize people's welfare over mere economic statistics.
