Atlanta, AP — On Sunday, Scottie Scheffler ended all discussions about who had the best season, as he shot a 4-under 66 to win the Tour Championship, secure a second FedEx Cup title, and surpass Tiger Woods as the PGA Tour player with the highest career earnings. Scheffler made up a three-shot deficit with a 4-under 66 to claim victory at East Lake.

His impressive win marked his third title this year, tying him with Chris Gotterup, Matt Fitzpatrick, and U.S. Open champion Wyndham Clark for the most victories in 2026. Having won his first FedEx Cup two years ago, Scheffler would need to secure the Jack Nicklaus Award for PGA Tour Player of the Year four times to match Woods' record of most consecutive awards.

With the $40 million prize for the Tour Championship now counted as official money, Scheffler's total earnings rose to $130,390,661, surpassing Woods' $130 million mark in career earnings. Woods had held the top spot in career earnings for nearly 26 years, but Scheffler's triumph signified a significant milestone for the young golfer.
