Reggie Cannon, Adam Beaudry lead Rapids to 1-0 victory over Real Salt Lake

Defender Reggie Cannon scored the decisive goal for the Colorado Rapids in a 1-0 victory over Real Salt Lake on Saturday night. The 20-year-old kept goal, Adam Beaudry, made his first clean sheet in his third career start, having not been tested all season. Cannon utilized his head to score from a corner kick delivered by Youssef Maziz in the 58th minute, marking his second goal of the season and his fifth career goal.

Maziz has contributed two assists in his first four league appearances this season. Real Salt Lake, on the other hand, was unable to mount a comeback, with Rafael Cabral saving three shots during the match. The Rapids were recently off a 3-0 loss to San Diego FC and had been winning by shutouts for five consecutive home matches.

Real Salt Lake, meanwhile, has struggled recently, finishing 0-3-2 in August and losing their last three games. Colorado Rapids will face Columbus Crew on Saturday, while Real Salt Lake hosts Los Angeles FC on the same day.
