Canadian claims 2026 Motor Mountain Masters at Jennerstown Speedway

On Saturday, August 29, the Jennerstown Speedway Complex hosted its premier event of the season, the Motor Mountain Masters, for the ninth consecutive year. Despite a rainout earlier in the year and the CRA pulling out just over a week prior, the Jennerstown staff, led by chief pit steward Mike Belardi, managed to assemble a field of 22 drivers. Out of state competitors joined weekly Jennerstown Speedway contenders in battling for $10,000 and the prized Crimson Jacket.

19-year-old Chase Pinsonneault from Belle River, Ontario, emerged victorious. Albert Francis, a former Jennerstown Martella's Pharmacies Late Model champion, had dominated the first 50 laps before giving up the lead to Pinsonneault on the first lap out of the break. The two engaged in a thrilling duel for the next ten laps. However, Pinsonneault took the lead for good with 29 laps to go, despite losing his brakes with six laps remaining.

Weekly Jennerstown Speedway driver Dennis Wenner secured the second position, followed by Albert Francis, who earned his third win in the Integrity Coatings Charger division. Donald Lybarger Jr. claimed his third victory in the Charger division, working his way up the pack to claim the top spot just three laps into the 15-lap feature. In the One Stop Auto Sales Pro Stock division, Kyle Burkholder claimed his second win of the season, overtaking points leader Josh Dunmyer by five points.

In the Ohio Wheelman Super Series street stock division, Earl Goldy won the first of two 30-lap features, finishing ahead of Tristan Crago. Dale Glessner secured his first win since June 3, 2023, in the Stoystown Auto Wreckers Modified division, edging out Dale Glessner's brother Doug with one lap to go. Sheldon Sommers claimed his second win this season in the Ohio Wheelman Super Series Pro Compact division, finishing ahead of Jeff Kuykendall, who collected his third victory of the season at Jennerstown Speedway.
