Randy Quaid Rants That Anne Hathaway Is a ‘Leftist, Woke, Horrible Choice’ for ‘Days of Thunder 2’

Randy Quaid, who starred in the original "Days of Thunder," expressed his displeasure over the casting decision for the sequel's release. Paramount confirmed Tom Cruise's return alongside Anne Hathaway, but Quaid believes Nicole Kidman, his ex-wife from the original film, would have been a better fit. Quaid tweeted his discontent, stating that Hathaway is a "leftist, woke, horrible choice" and that the "sexy older chick for Tom in this film needs to be Nicole."

He also criticized the casting, saying it wouldn't sell the idea to the NASCAR audience, who he claims are "MAGA." Quaid's rant continued, accusing Hathaway of not being sexy and urging Cruise to not be "a p—y." The original "Days of Thunder" featured Quaid as Tim Daland, a team owner who recruits Cruise's character Cole Trickle to race, but their relationship quickly turned rocky.

Cruise is the only original cast member confirmed for the sequel, though other notable actors from the first film are still active. Quaid has been known for supporting conservative politics and has faced legal issues in the past, including a burglary charge in 2010, which led to a legal dispute over extradition.
