Power outage disrupts NEET-PG exam in Jaipur, re-exam ordered for affected candidates

Technical issues marred the NEET-PG 2026 examination at two centres in Jaipur on Sunday, August 30, 2026. Candidates reported that their computers shut down repeatedly during the test, which was scheduled to start at 9 am. The disruption began as the test commenced, with some candidates experiencing up to six or seven shutdowns.

The examination, which aspirants had prepared for over a year, took place at iON Digital Zone centres in Sitapura. After the computers restarted, only a few questions appeared on some screens before they shut down again. Candidates staged protests, demanding an explanation for the technical failures and questioning the fairness of the examination.

They also raised concerns over the confidentiality of the test, alleging that some questions appeared before the systems went down. Candidates argued that such disruptions could negatively impact their future, given the substantial fee they had paid for the exam. Police and administration officials were called to maintain order during the protests.
