NEET PG exam rescheduled for nearly 300 candidates over power outage in Jaipur

The National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) has announced a rescheduling of the NEET-PG examination at iON Digital Zone Sitapura 2 in Jaipur, Rajasthan. This decision came about due to a power outage at the examination center. The revised date for the examination is September 5, 2026, according to sources. Around 300 candidates were originally scheduled to take the test at this particular center.

Additional information regarding the rescheduled examination will be communicated directly to the concerned candidates. Simultaneously, the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (Undergraduate) (NEET) PG 2026 examination began on Sunday. Over 2.73 lakh medical graduates participated in the postgraduate medical entrance examination at various designated centers across India.

The test was conducted in a single shift between 9:00 AM and 12:30 PM using a computer-based mode. As candidates arrived at examination centers in cities like Chennai, Kanchipuram, Agra, and Mohan Estate in Delhi, one Agra candidate, Chayaa, expressed her nervousness before the test but remained optimistic about performing well.

The NEET PG examination is vital for admission to postgraduate medical courses nationwide. This rescheduling incident follows the cancellation of the NEET UG 2026 examination in May due to alleged paper-leak allegations. The NTA subsequently conducted a re-examination on June 21, with approximately 22.79 lakh candidates registered for the undergraduate exam held across India and abroad.
