Police dismantle bandit camps in Kaduna

On August 29, 2026, the Kaduna State Police Command successfully dismantled bandit camps during a clearance operation in Makarfi Local Government Area. According to the command's spokesperson, DSP Mansir Hassan, the security team collaborated with the Kaduna State Vigilance Service to engage bandits and dismantle their hideout. Information provided by residents aided the security operatives in locating suspected bandit camps near Durum and Danguzuri, including areas close to the Kano State border.

Two structures used by the bandits to keep abducted victims were destroyed during the operation. These structures were found at Rugar Mijin Goggo and Unguwar Maryamu in Danguzuri. Joint security patrols are being maintained in the area to prevent the bandits from returning, and normalcy has been restored, with the general area remaining calm.

The Kaduna State Commissioner of Police, Rabiu Muhammad, expressed gratitude to the residents for their useful information and support during the security operation, praising the efforts of the security personnel and assuring the public that the police would continue operations against banditry and other crimes across the state.
