NDC should remove content creators posing as activists — Spokesperson

The spokesperson for the New Democratic Congress, Theo Agada, has urged the party's leaders to remove what he called "opportunistic content creators posing as activists" before the 2027 general elections. Agada made the call after viewing a video shared by a content creator, who identified himself as Flag Boy NG. The video showed the individual removing political flags and materials associated with the Obidient Movement and Peter Obi's NDC, before setting the items on fire.

The video sparked reactions on social media, with some interpreting the action as the content creator distancing himself from the NDC and its associated movement. Agada accused some content creators of using activism for personal gain and called for the party leadership to address this issue. He stated, "I am so exhausted. It's time the party leadership gets rid of these opportunistic content creators masquerading as activists.

If the motivation is not campaign donations, why are you people fighting over leadership in your micro-movements? Shame on you all." The comments come as political parties and movements gear up for the 2027 general elections. The NDC has gained supporters from former Anambra State governor and 2023 presidential candidate Peter Obi, but discussions continue regarding the party's future and Obi's political prospects.
