Nashik: Masters TT Players Bag Two Gold, One Silver And Four Bronze Medals In Kolhapur

Nashik's masters table tennis players showcased remarkable skill at the 2nd Maharashtra Masters State Ranking Table Tennis Championship in Kolhapur, securing two gold medals, one silver medal, and four bronze medals.

In the Men's Team event for players aged 60 and above, Suresh Sharma and Sunil Malode, representing Maharashtra Warriors alongside Pradeep Gupta of Pune and Prashant Waru of Amravati, emerged victorious. They triumphed over KRC team of TSTTA Mumbai with a score of 3-1 in the final, with Suresh Sharma and Pradeep Gupta playing crucial roles in their success.

Swati Agharkar of Nashik claimed the silver medal in the Women's above-60 category. She narrowly lost the final to Manisha Pradhan of TSTTA Mumbai 3-2, with the scores 2-3, 2-2, 2-3, 3-2. Nashik's Nutan Dhikle secured a bronze medal in the women's singles event in the same category, losing 1-3 in the semi-final to Pradhan, with the scores 4-11, 11-13, 11-8, and 8-11.

In the Men's above-70 category, top-seeded Nashik player Shivanand Kundaje took home a bronze medal after losing 1-3 in the semi-final to Jayant Kulkarni of Mumbai. In the Men's above-80 singles category, Nashik's Sanjay Shirsat won a bronze medal after losing to Pune's Subodh Deshpande in the semi-final, with Deshpande winning the match 3-0 (11-8, 11-6, 11-6).

Sanjay Kulkarni and Sagar Kulkarni from Nashik also secured bronze medals in the Men's above-45 category after losing in the semi-final to Pune's Omkar Jog and Omkar Jog, respectively. Jog won the match comfortably 3-0 (11-6, 11-1, 11-4).
