KL City 'to fight' Malaysian League administrators over match forfeit

Kuala Lumpur FA president Syed Yazid Syed Omar has announced that the club will contest the Malaysian Football League's decision to award Negri Sembilan a three-goal walkover in a recent match. The appeal is set to be filed on Tuesday and will include three key points: an RM50,000 fine, and the club's inability to play the game.

The scheduled fixture, which was to be played in Paroi on August 22, was subsequently postponed due to unforeseen circumstances. Syed Yazid stated that he possesses documentary evidence, such as WhatsApp messages exchanged with the league's chief executive officer Shazli Shaik, to substantiate his claim. The messages, sent at 10:38 am, confirmed that two matches would be postponed.

Syed Yazid expressed his dissatisfaction, claiming that the league body first informed them of the postponement before subsequently awarding Negri a 3-0 victory. He added that the club's medical report from KL Hospital also supports their position. KL City's recent win against DPMM in the Super League provided a much-needed morale boost for the club, which has been struggling with FIFA registration bans.

Syed Yazid emphasized that another loss would have exacerbated the pressure on the team, making the victory over DPMM essential. The club awaits the league's response before deciding on their next course of action.
