Nashik: CM Devendra Fadnavis Inaugurates High-Tech Fire Ladder, 21 New E-Buses

Nashik's Municipal Corporation has recently acquired a high-tech aerial ladder, designed to reach a height of 10 meters and an outreach of 30 meters. This advanced fire ladder, which can discharge 3,000 liters of water per minute, was inaugurated by Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis. Its powerful 400 HP engine enhances the fire brigade's rescue capabilities, particularly in high-rise buildings, where rapid urbanisation has led to a surge in such structures.

In parallel, the first batch of 21 air-conditioned e-buses, as part of the 50 electric buses sanctioned under the Central Government's PM e-Bus scheme, has arrived in Nashik. Seven more buses are anticipated to follow in the coming week. These eco-friendly e-buses, set to be introduced under the 'Citylink' fleet, are scheduled to commence operations from September 1. Currently, Citylink operates approximately 250 buses, predominantly CNG (200) and diesel (50).

Mayor Himgauri Aher-Adke, Deputy Mayor Vilas Shinde, and Standing Committee Chairman Machhindra Sanap graced the occasion of the e-bus's arrival. These buses, adorned in orange, not only augment passenger transport capacity but also contribute to the city's sustainability goals by reducing diesel consumption and carbon emissions. The deployment of these buses, delayed due to agreement process, is expected to bolster Nashik's bus service, particularly in anticipation of the upcoming Kumbh Mela.
