Modi, Uzbek President Mirziyoyev talk uranium supply, set $5 billion trade target

In a visit to Uzbekistan, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi met with President Shavkat Mirziyoyev to strengthen bilateral ties and explore new areas of cooperation. The two leaders declared the relationship a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership, marking the 15th anniversary of their alliance. Modi pledged to elevate the relationship to this new level, setting a bilateral trade target of $5 billion by 2030 and discussing uranium supply.

Uzbekistan's President praised India for its "enduring bond" and highlighted shared goals in youth, innovation, inclusive growth, and modern technology. The two countries agreed to prepare roadmaps for various sectors, including energy, culture, critical minerals, pharmaceuticals, and agriculture. They also committed to zero tolerance for terrorism and vowed to take concerted action against terrorist entities.
