Marc Marquez wins Aragon MotoGP Grand Prix

Marc Marquez secured a decisive win at the Aragon MotoGP Grand Prix on Sunday, with Pedro Acosta in second place and Marco Bezzecchi rounding out the podium. The seven-time MotoGP champion, who has a strong history at the MotorLand circuit, climbed into second place in the overall standings, trailing Jorge Martin by just 19 points.

Marquez's victory marked his fourth win of the season and a sixth triumph for Ducati in Aragon. While Bezzecchi and Martin started well and took the early lead, Marquez quickly closed the gap, passing Martin on lap six to take the lead. Bezzecchi built a lead of eight-tenths of a second but Marquez seized the advantage on lap six at Turn 15, when the pair brushed wheels.

Acosta took second place after Francesco Bagnaia and Franco Morbidelli both crashed out, and Raul Fernandez retired. Marquez extended his lead to over a second by lap 14, and finished the race more than 1.7 seconds ahead of Acosta. Marc's brother Alex Marquez finished fourth, ahead of Martin, Fermin Aldeguer, and fourth-placed overall Fabio Di Giannantonio. Japanese rider Ai Ogura, who was injured, did not compete and dropped to fifth in the standings.
