Khan, the deputy head of Crime Intelligence, has challenged the findings of an expedited disciplinary process where he was alleged to have breached police standards and tarnished the service's reputation. The Labour Court will now determine whether Khan's claims of wrongful dismissal hold merit.

Meanwhile, Gauteng Premier Panyaza Lesufi has taken aim at the DA following the unveiling of a billboard in Hammanskraal. The billboard criticizes the ANC and ActionSA for spending R777 million on water tankers in Tshwane over the past year. Lesufi labels the DA's actions as "opportunistic," asserting the party had previously endorsed the water tanker companies during its tenure as the City of Tshwane's governing authority.

The DA's mayoral candidate, Cilliers Brink, however, rejects Lesufi's characterization of the billboard as a calculated move.

Lastly, President Cyril Ramaphosa has addressed the outburst of Johannesburg Mayor Dada Morero, who recently engaged in a heated exchange with a resident in Tshepisong. Ramaphosa stated that the ANC does not condone Mayor Morero's behavior but acknowledges that political campaigns occasionally see "mishaps." The president's remarks imply that the ANC is prepared to forgive Morero for his behavior, despite the resident's accusations and Morero's repeated reprimands.
