Bawumia donates GH¢50,000 to St Jude Catholic Church at Weija

Flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, has contributed GH¢50,000 to the St Jude Catholic Church at Weija in the Greater Accra Region. This donation is a continuation of Dr Bawumia's financial assistance to the church, previously aiding in the construction of its church building and an eight-seater washroom for people with disabilities.

During a Holy Mass, Dr Bawumia was recognized for his generosity and subsequently commissioned the newly constructed washroom facility. Besides the monetary support, Dr Bawumia toured the Weija Leprosarium, where he interacted with patients and reiterated his commitment to their welfare. Presenting the donation, Dr Bawumia pledged his ongoing support to the church's activities.

He cited the work of Rev. Father Andrew Campbell, known for his dedication to helping the poor, sick, lepers, street children, and the disadvantaged. Dr Bawumia praised Father Campbell, calling him an "extraordinary person" and a "true man of God," expressing admiration for his concern for the vulnerable. Father Campbell acknowledged Dr Bawumia's generosity, noting his empathy towards needy and sick individuals.

He highlighted how Dr Bawumia's personal visits to patients at the leprosarium, including shaking hands and embracing them, demonstrated his love for humanity.
