‘I just lost my mum, can’t lose my sister,’ says sibling of abducted corps member

A sibling of an abducted National Youth Service Corps member has called on the Federal Government and security agencies to intensify their efforts to rescue the victims. Chidinma, the sister, lamented that her family had recently lost their mother and could not bear another tragedy. She expressed her distress over her sister's abduction, which occurred on Wednesday, while she was returning from a three-week orientation camp in Bayelsa State to her assignment in Niger State.

Despite claims that some corps members had been rescued, Chidinma insisted that her sister was still missing and threatened that another loss would be unbearable. She appealed to Nigerians, the government, and the United Nations to intervene and rescue the abducted corps members. The Kogi State Police Command confirmed the abduction and rescue of 11 victims, including the abducted corps members' drivers, but also stated that the operation to rescue the remaining victims remains ongoing.
