Hasat Bambra Enterprise trains 23 youth in soap-making and entrepreneurship

Hasat Bambra Enterprise recently concluded its second annual soap-making workshop, enrolling 23 young individuals to learn practical skills for self-employment, entrepreneurship, and financial independence. The training took place at Hartley Trust Foundation School on Kasoa-Kakraba Road, focusing on the production of liquid soap, shower gel, industrial bleach, and black food soap. Participants also learned to make body oils, stretch-mark oils, and other related products.

Founder Hassana Issaka Bambara of Hasat Bambra Enterprise shared her personal motivation for the initiative, crediting her own experience with soap-making for the program's creation. She aimed to equip young people with practical skills that could empower them economically, saying, "I have seen firsthand how important and beneficial learning a skill, especially soap-making, has been to me. I wanted to give young people that same opportunity by equipping them with practical skills that can empower them in life."

During the workshop, participants were introduced to the differences between locally produced and industrial liquid soap and bleach, as well as proper production procedures and safety precautions. The program also addressed women's empowerment and entrepreneurship with a guest speaker, Zahratu Muniru, Chairperson of the Gomoa East District Al-Hilal Division. Muniru encouraged the young attendees, particularly women, to leverage the knowledge gained from the workshop.

Other guest speakers included Tony Quist, founder of Anquist College Complex, who discussed entrepreneurship, branding, and opportunities available to young people, including government and private sector initiatives. Participants praised the training, describing it as valuable and enlightening. Amina Ibrahim, one of the participants, expressed that the workshop went beyond her expectations, providing her with valuable knowledge.

Fatima Shuaib, another participant, shared that she learned new production techniques and gained a deeper understanding of the business.

Hasat Bambra Enterprise plans to continue offering practical skills training to young people, aiming to promote entrepreneurship, self-employment, and economic empowerment.
