Cómo creé un directorio Open Data sin frameworks para apoyar el comercio local de Soria

In a world dominated by large corporate marketplaces and opaque algorithms, small local businesses and traditional crafts often remain invisible. This issue is particularly evident in regions like Soria, part of the Spain Vaciada, where traditional commerce forms the backbone of the community. To provide an independent, lightweight, and 100% community-driven solution, I have developed Comercio Local de Soria, an Open Data and free code project. 🎯 The Project's Objective The primary mission is to offer an open, free, and independent web directory that connects neighbors and visitors with the real economy of the province: 🍯 Traditional gastronomy (Soria PDO butter, artisanal cheeses, local honey). 🛠️ Repair services, textiles, and footwear. 🎨 Local crafts, illustration, and creative spaces. ☕ Iconic bars and rural house tourism.

Any individual can freely consult the data or propose the inclusion of new businesses. 💻 Technical Stack: Simplicity and Maximum Performance To ensure rapid loading even in rural areas with limited mobile coverage (3G/4G), I opted for a minimalist approach with no heavy dependencies: Semantic HTML5: Clean structure to maximize local SEO and accessibility.

Responsive CSS3: Adapted design for mobile devices without the need for heavy frameworks like Bootstrap or Tailwind. Vanilla JavaScript: Direct DOM manipulation and dynamic category filtering without external libraries. Free Geolocation: Integration with OpenStreetMap and Google Maps to facilitate access to each location. Continuous Deployment: Free hosting on GitHub Pages.

The entire project is structured in an ultra-light flow that guarantees a 100% performance score on Google Lighthouse. 🚀 Open Data Projects and Community As an open data directory, the information is not blocked by registration or a paid API. The current database includes 23 emblematic businesses from the Soria province and continues to grow.
