BJP plans protests over 22-A lands, student fee dues

The Telangana Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has ramped up its opposition to the Congress government's policies, announcing a series of protests over the next week. A key demand is the scrapping of the controversial 22-A land regulations, for which BJP Legislature Party leader Aleti Maheshwar Reddy will lead a two-day fast at Dharna Chowk on September 5 and 6.

The Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM) will hold a separate protest at the same venue on September 7, seeking the immediate release of pending student fee reimbursement dues. BJP president N. Ramchander Rao criticized the Revanth Reddy government, alleging it was "brazenly looting" Hyderabad through its policies, including the proposed Core Urban Region (CURE) initiative.

Rao accused the government of imposing additional taxes, converting industrial lands into real estate ventures, and selling public land, all of which he claims would strip the Mayor of key powers and concentrate authority in the hands of the Chief Minister. He also accused the government of failing to curb the sale of drugs and narcotics, citing a 43% rise in drug-related offenses.
