Ukrainian forces reportedly strike Russian retail warehouse in Rostov Oblast

Ukrainian forces reportedly launched an attack on a retail warehouse belonging to DNS, a major appliance and electronics retailer, in Rostov Oblast, southern Russia, on Aug. 29, according to monitoring channels. The warehouse in the town of Aksay was set ablaze as a result of the assault, forcing employees to evacuate the area. Alongside the warehouse, residential buildings in the vicinity sustained damage, reported Telegram channel Exilenova Plus.

Rostov Oblast Governor Yuriy Slyusar confirmed that the region is currently under attack, stating that it remains unclear whether there are any casualties. The city of Rostov-on-Don, along with the Aksay, Bagayev, and Neklinovsky districts, are reportedly under attack. However, the Kyiv Independent could not immediately verify these details.

Ukraine has been conducting regular attacks on military infrastructure deep within Russia and the occupied territories to weaken Moscow's capacity to continue its war. On Aug. 28, Ukrainian drones targeted the Yaroslavl oil refinery, one of Russia's largest oil processing facilities, according to the General Staff. Other attacks on Russian retailers, including e-commerce giants Wildberries and Ozon, have also taken place throughout the summer.

On Aug. 27, warehouses belonging to the Russian online retailer Ozon in Ufa and Orenburg were attacked, as reported by the company. On Aug. 26, Ukrainian forces targeted a Wildberries warehouse, causing explosions in Tambov Oblast and Ukraine's occupied territories, as monitored by various channels.
