Two youth held for chain snatching in Vellore

On Saturday, authorities in Vellore apprehended two young men, Kenerson and K. Diwakar, both aged 21, for allegedly snatching a 10 sovereign gold chain from an insurance company employee, Kameela Manjula, 54. The incident occurred on August 25 when the victim, who worked at a private insurance firm, was returning home near Christian Medical College in Bagayam.

The duo allegedly rode a two-wheeler and stole the gold chain before escaping the scene. Following a case registration by the Bagayam police, special teams reviewed CCTV footage along the route. The duo was subsequently apprehended from their hiding place in Katpadi and the gold chain was recovered. They were subsequently taken to the Central Prison in Vellore, and an ongoing probe is being conducted.
