IDF says strike on Gaza hospital compound killed Hamas commander

On Saturday, Israeli strikes and artillery fire resulted in the deaths of three Palestinians in Gaza, according to local health officials. Two Palestinians were killed in Gaza City when an Israeli missile struck a motorbike, while another was wounded in the same incident. The Israeli military claimed the strike targeted a "military operative" without providing further details.

Additionally, a farmer was killed by tank fire in eastern Deir al-Balah, according to officials at Al-Aqsa Martyrs hospital. The Israeli military later stated that the target was a Hamas commander who planned to carry out terror attacks near the hospital. The commander was accused of hiding within the compound, and Israeli forces stated they would respond to any further threats.

Meanwhile, Iran's leadership remains firmly under the control of military generals and clerics, with Ayatollah Mojtaba Khamenei serving as the supreme leader. Khamenei, who assumed power after his father and other senior leaders were killed in early February, has demonstrated a strong stance against dissent and appears prepared for a prolonged confrontation with the United States.
