Two passengers kidnapped after gunmen block Plateau road

Two passengers were abducted in a recent attack that occurred when gunmen blocked the Bokkos-Barkin Ladi Road in Plateau State's Barkin Ladi Local Government Area. The incident unfolded around 8:40 pm on Friday, August 28, when security forces from Operation Enduring Peace responded to a distress call regarding the situation. Counter-insurgency expert Zagazola Makama reported that upon arrival, troops discovered the road had been blocked, and a vehicle driven by Mr. Kollog Dakwan had been stopped. Two individuals in the vehicle were subsequently taken captive by the assailants.

Security personnel promptly mobilized into the surrounding woodland in an effort to locate the kidnappers and rescue the victims. However, the initial search did not yield any contact with the attackers. In response to the ongoing threat, security forces are intensifying their search for the abducted passengers while simultaneously pursuing those responsible for the attack.

Patrols and surveillance have been heightened along the road and in surrounding areas to avert further incidents. The incident has reignited concerns over the safety of major roads in certain parts of Plateau State, where kidnapping and other criminal activities persist as significant challenges.
