Tahsildars and sub-registrars should be more humane: Ponguleti

Revenue Minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy has urged Tahsildars and sub-registrars to demonstrate greater empathy in their roles and cease the practice of causing citizens to navigate through multiple hurdles to resolve their issues. During a review of the functioning of the Revenue, Registration, Survey and Housing departments in the former Nalgonda district, Reddy emphasized that each application concerning land matters should be assessed with optimism and addressed promptly.

He cautioned officials to focus on pending applications and threatened stringent consequences for negligence. Reddy highlighted that the successful execution of the Bhu Bharati Act fell under the jurisdiction of Revenue officials. He instructed officials to give the utmost priority to the first phase of the State-wide re-survey, with completion expected by the end of October.

Preparations for the second phase, scheduled for December, were to commence immediately. Reddy directed officials to ensure a transparent re-survey in the 70 villages included in the first phase and firmly delineate village boundaries.
