Shettima opts for low-key 60th birthday celebration

Vice President Kashim Shettima has announced plans for a modest 60th birthday celebration on September 2, 2026. In a statement released by his media aide Stanley Nkwocha, Shettima appealed to supporters and the media to keep the event low-key and avoid public celebrations, congratulatory advertisements, or any form of paid media coverage.

The Vice President stated that he believed public attention should remain focused on the critical work of national development rather than individual milestones. Instead of elaborate parties or paid media attention, Shettima urged his well-wishers to direct their goodwill towards prayer for Nigeria and the administration of President Bola Tinubu.
