Owaisi seeks to allay fears of electors who have received notices

All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen president Asaduddin Owaisi addressed concerns on Friday regarding Special Intensive Revision (SIR) notices sent to electors. He assured the public that the party was ready to help those who received such notices. Owaisi instructed recipients to appear before the Electoral Registration Officer (ERO) on their scheduled hearing date and bring any relevant document from a pre-approved list.

He emphasized the importance of taking the SIR notice seriously, as exclusion from the final electoral roll in October could result in losing one's vote and potentially raise questions about an individual's citizenship. The AIMIM leader revealed various scenarios that could trigger an SIR notice, such as a parent-children age gap of 50 years or more, or having six or more siblings. He urged electors not to panic, reiterating that his party was always ready to offer support.
