NPP announces vetting date after 47 out of 50 aspirants file nomination for national executive elections

Forty-seven of the 50 aspirants who purchased nomination forms for the New Patriotic Party's 2026 National Officers Elections have successfully submitted their paperwork, the National Officers Elections Committee (NOEC) announced. The filing period concluded at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 29, 2026. However, three candidates - Bernard Antwi Boasiako, Evans Kodom, and Perpetual Ekua Lomokie Akwada - did not complete the process.

Boasiako later withdrew, while Kodom ceased participating during the filing of Dennis Miracles Aboagye's nomination. Akwada failed to submit her forms before the deadline, leaving Aboagye as the only aspirant for the National Communications Director position. The vetting of the 47 candidates is set to begin on Monday, August 31, and conclude on Thursday, September 3.

The Vetting Committee, chaired by former Minister for Gender, Children and Social Protection Cecilia Abena Dapaah, will oversee the process. Vettings for the National Chairperson, General Secretary, and National Treasurer will occur on Monday, followed by National Vice Chairperson aspirants on Tuesday, National Organiser and National Youth Organiser candidates on Wednesday, and final vettings for National Communications Director, National Nasara Organiser, and National Women Organiser candidates on Thursday.
