Nootbaar’s leadoff homer, 3 hits spark Diamondbacks in 10-6 victory over Giants

Lars Nootbaar's leadoff homer off Blade Tidwell and three additional hits propelled the Diamondbacks to a 10-6 triumph over the San Francisco Giants on Friday night. This marked Nootbaar's fifth home run of the season, contributing to Arizona's third-place standing in the National League. The Diamondbacks overcame a Giants solo homer in the first inning and an RBI double in the third inning by Bryce Eldridge.

Corbin Carroll's two-run homer in the third inning, his 19th of the season, solidified Arizona's 3-2 lead. Tim Tawa added a three-run shot to left in the third, widening the Diamondbacks' advantage to 6-2. Ildemaro Vargas' two-run single in the sixth inning, coupled with Christian Koss' first homer of the year, a two-run drive in the fourth, narrowed the gap to 6-5.

Gerardo Carrillo (3-1) maintained the Diamondbacks' lead with a scoreless fifth inning before right-hander Braxton Roxby made his major league debut in the ninth, retiring the Diamondbacks in order.
