NEET PG 2026 exam tomorrow: Exam pattern changes; what to carry, and avoid

NEET PG 2026 exam is scheduled for tomorrow, August 30, 2026. The test will be administered in a single shift across the nation at 1,111 centers, with 2,73,183 candidates registered. The examination duration remains at 3 hours and 30 minutes, but the number of questions has decreased from 200 to 180.

Candidates must bring the following items to the exam center: a printed color copy of the barcoded, QR-coded admit card, a photocopy of the permanent or provisional SMC, MCI, NMC registration certificate, an original and valid government-issued photo ID, and an Aadhaar document if they opted for Aadhaar-based authentication. Those requiring a scribe or compensatory time must also bring the UDID/disability certificate and other specified documents. Medicines, medical devices, and prostheses require supporting medical documents.

Items not allowed in the examination center include mobile phones, Bluetooth devices, earphones, microphones, pagers, wristwatches, smartwatches, health bands, calculators, pens, pencils, erasers, writing pads, printed material, notes, stationery, pen drives, electronic pens or scanners, jewelry, wallets, handbags, goggles, belts, caps, masks, gloves, food items, soft drinks, and water bottles.

Upon arrival, candidates will undergo mandatory security checks, which may include frisking, metal-detector screening, and checks for concealed electronic or communication devices. Fingerprints and photographs will be captured for identity verification. Candidates are advised not to apply henna or color tattoos on their fingers before the exam, as this could cause complications during biometric registration.
