Mumbai Weather Update: Cloudy Skies, Moderate Showers With Gusty Winds; No Rain Alert Over Weekend

Mumbai residents awoke to cloudy skies and gusty winds on Saturday as monsoon conditions persisted across the city. According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), the city and its suburbs were forecasted to see moderate rainfall and thundershowers, although no rain alert was issued for the weekend. The sky was partly cloudy with intermittent spells of light to moderate rain in both the city and its suburbs.

The IMD forecast indicated that while widespread heavy rainfall was unlikely, isolated areas could experience moderate to heavy showers accompanied by gusty winds. Wind speeds were expected to range between 40 and 50 kilometers per hour, with gusts possibly reaching 50-60 kmph during intense rain episodes. The day's maximum temperature was anticipated to hover around 33°C, while the overnight minimum was recorded at 29°C.

Despite the ongoing rain, there was no weather alert in place for Mumbai over the weekend. However, officials advised residents to exercise caution during sudden, intense showers, particularly in low-lying areas prone to waterlogging. Currently, Mumbai's air quality, measured by the Air Quality Index (AQI), remained in the healthy range, classified as Good with a score of 25. An AQI within the 0-50 range is considered Good, indicating clean air with minimal health risks.
