Muere Carlos Espinosa de los Monteros, expresidente de Iberia y primer Alto Comisionado para la Marca España

Carlos Espinosa de los Monteros, former president of Iberia and first High Commissioner for the Spain Brand, passed away on Saturday at the age of 82. Espinosa de los Monteros, who had an extensive career in public administration and the corporate sector, contributed significantly to Spain's international projection. He studied Law at the Complutense University and Business Administration at ICADE.

From 2012 to 2018, he was appointed by the Council of Ministers as the first High Commissioner for the Spain Brand, where he led the strategy for coordinating and enhancing the country's reputation and external image. He also served as Spain's commercial advisor in Chicago and as Director of Commercial Affairs and Vice President of the National Industry Institute.

In business, Espinosa de los Monteros presided over Iberia, Aviaco, Mercedes Benz España, Daimler-Chrysler, and González-Byass. He also led the Circle of Entrepreneurs and the automotive association ANFAC, and was part of the governmental bodies of companies such as Inditex, Acciona, and Schindler. The ex-secretary general of Vox, Javier Ortega Smith, expressed his condolences, calling Espinosa de los Monteros a great father, a great person, a patriot, and an outstanding professional.
