Milo Yiannopoulos, Far-Right Agitator, Deported to U.K. After ICE Detainment

Milo Yiannopoulos, a far-right commentator and prominent early supporter of President Trump, was deported to the United Kingdom on Friday, according to a Department of Homeland Security statement. He was arrested by Immigration and Customs Enforcement at Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport on Thursday. Yiannopoulos had overstayed his visa after entering the country legally in 2019, leading to a final order for removal issued by an immigration judge on July 22.

Known for his inflammatory commentary targeting various groups, Yiannopoulos gained notoriety through controversial college campus appearances during Trump's presidency. In 2017, he resigned from Breitbart after a video surfaced seemingly condoning sexual relationships between adults and minors. This incident prompted the Conservative Political Action Conference to revoke his speaking invitation and Simon & Schuster to cancel the publication of his planned book.

Yiannopoulos has consistently supported Trump's hardline immigration policies, even advocating for ICE checkpoints in various public spaces. Since leaving Breitbart, he has worked as an adviser to Kanye West during the rapper's failed 2024 presidential bid and posted antisemitic messages in response to Ye's public apology for past antisemitic statements.
