Military Commits to Providing Affordable Housing for Personnel

Abuja, Nigeria - The Nigerian military has reaffirmed its dedication to providing affordable housing for military personnel while enhancing its overall operations. This commitment was outlined by Major General Isaiah Allison, the newly appointed Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of Defence Properties Limited (DPL).

DPL's General Manager, Strategy, Captain JD John-Ogudire, revealed that the new leadership aligns with the military's strategic philosophy, which emphasizes jointness, sound administration, and improved welfare for personnel. This approach aims to maintain the Armed Forces' core responsibilities of protecting Nigeria's sovereignty and prosperity.

Under the leadership of the Chief of Defence Staff, General Olufemi Oluyede, the military's priorities revolve around greater jointness, efficient administration, and enhanced welfare. DPL, under Major General Allison's guidance, is committed to implementing these priorities and driving the company's operations forward.

The new administration recently held a strategic retreat, titled 'Launching Out with Clarity & Focus,' which aimed to provide a clear direction and focus for DPL's future operations. Allison emphasized that his vision involves staff development, revitalizing the company's operations, and expanding real estate activities across the country. This expansion will create resources for effective administration and improve welfare for military personnel.

To further strengthen cooperation within the Defence Holdings Company Limited, DPL management visited other sister companies, including Defence Farms/Agro-Allied Products Limited and Defence Engineering Services Limited. These visits aimed to discuss areas of mutual interest and improve cooperation among the organizations.

Moving forward, DPL will continue to prioritize improving its operations, increasing productivity, and contributing to the welfare of the Armed Forces of Nigeria.
