Machete-wielding man attacks security guards at Lagos cinema, kills two

Two individuals were reportedly killed in an attack at a cinema in Lekki, Lagos State, on Friday night. A machete-wielding man allegedly gained access to the facility and initiated a violent encounter with security guards. The assault occurred just before the report was filed, causing fear among cinema visitors and employees. The suspect, who was reportedly unarmed, became aggressive after being denied entry and allegedly struck one security guard, leading to his death.

The same individual also wounded another security guard. The Lagos State Police Command confirmed the incident on Saturday, stating that the assailant died after being surrounded by onlookers. The identities of the deceased and the details of the incident are under investigation. The Chief Security Officer of the cinema was detained during the inquiry, and the police are reviewing CCTV footage to establish the sequence of events and identify potential additional suspects.

The police are currently conducting an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the attack and the deaths, but have not yet released the names of the victims or provided further details on the condition of the injured security guard.
