Live: Wallabies face Los Pumas in first Test

The Wallabies are set to take on the Los Pumas in the first Test of their upcoming two-match series in Argentina. The Australian team is currently on a three-Test winning streak. Argentina's starting lineup remains the same as the one that lost to world champions South Africa earlier in the month. Captain Julián Montoya, flanker Marcos Kremer, and backs Mateo Carreras, Santiago Chocobares, Bautista Delguy are all unavailable due to injuries sustained in previous games against the Wallabies in 2025.

Similarly, Juan Martin Gonzalez, Juan Cruz Mallia, and Pedro Rubiolo, who also faced the Wallabies earlier this year, are also injured and unable to play.

The Wallabies, under coach Les Kiss, will begin with the same starting backline that defeated Japan in Townsville earlier this month. Isaac Kailea, who has not played in two years, will start at loosehead prop, while Brandon Paenga-Amosa will take on the hooker position and Alaalatoa will play at tighthead. Rob Valetini will start at number eight in place of Harry Wilson, who has been rotated out of the side. Tom Hooper will start at blindside flanker for the first time this year.

With several key players unavailable and injuries to others, the Wallabies will need to rely on their bench for reinforcements. Fraser McReight, a Queensland Reds star, will start at openside flanker in Rob Valetini's absence. Tom Hooper will also make his debut at blindside flanker. The Wallabies' captain, Harry Wilson, has been replaced by Kiss's strategy of cycling through his team ahead of the upcoming home World Cup.
