KP Govt Approves Rs. 1 Billion Flood Rehabilitation Package

The Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa provincial government has approved a budget of one billion rupees to aid in the rehabilitation of infrastructure damaged by recent floods. A substantial portion, five hundred million rupees, is earmarked for Chitral, one of the regions impacted by the flooding. This decision was made at the 57th provincial cabinet meeting, as reported by Information, Science, and Technology Minister Shafi Jan to journalists following the meeting.

The KP cabinet also authorized the relevant department to seek financing from the World Bank's International Development Association, adhering to Islamic banking guidelines, to bolster flood rehabilitation efforts. The allocated funds aim to repair the damaged infrastructure and expedite rehabilitation activities in the flood-stricken areas.

Chief Minister Muhammad Sohail Afridi directed government departments to hasten development projects, ensuring that bureaucratic delays do not hinder public welfare initiatives. He expressed optimism that the current fiscal year would bring about peace, development, and prosperity to the province.
