Kelsey Mitchell breaks WNBA record that not even Caitlin Clark has achieved

Kelsey Mitchell has quietly dominated the WNBA with the Indiana Fever, setting numerous records along the way. With an average of 20 points per game, Mitchell has taken the pressure off star player Caitlin Clark. Mitchell has shattered records for consecutive games with 20+ points and most 30-point games in Fever history. On November 22nd, Mitchell reached a significant milestone when she scored 34 points against Portland, becoming the first guard in WNBA history to score 1,000+ points in a single season.

However, she was not the first player overall to reach the 1,000-point mark, as A’ja Wilson achieved this feat earlier. Following her performance against Connecticut, Caitlin Clark crossed the 800-point mark for the season, totaling 809 points. Clark also broke two other records against Portland, becoming the first player to achieve 800+ points, 300+ assists, and 100+ three-pointers in a single season.
