Kelantan trio display patriotism with Merdeka Day bicycle decorations

KOTA BARU: Three young residents of Jalan Bayam displayed their patriotism by spending nearly RM80 from their personal savings to adorn their bicycles with the Jalur Gemilang and vibrant decorations in anticipation of Merdeka Day. The pair consisted of two siblings and their cousin, who commenced decorating their bicycles as early as this week, utilizing a multitude of Jalur Gemilang flags, including larger ones mounted directly onto the bicycles.

Muhammad Haikal Hakimi Mohd Hilmi, a 15-year-old student at SMK Puteri, revealed that he had diligently been saving his pocket money to procure the decorations, expressing his desire for his bicycle to stand out on Merdeka Day. He remarked, "I wanted my bicycle to look special for Merdeka Day. We had fun decorating the bicycles together, and we are proud to display the Jalur Gemilang."

His 12-year-old sister, Amalin Qistina Dawisya Mohd Hilmi, a student at SK Sultan Ismail 2, expressed her excitement to join her brother and cousin in the endeavor. Their cousin, Mohamad Rayyan Mikail Mayuni, 10, a pupil at SK Paloh Pintu Geng, also contributed to the decorations. Rayyan stated, "Our parents have been supporting us all the way and we could not wait for the big day."

The trio have expressed their intention to cycle around the town on Merdeka Day while waving the Jalur Gemilang.
