Jharkhand Tragedy: Class 7 Student Killed In Lightning Strike During National Sports Day Event In Chatra

Chatra district in Jharkhand witnessed a tragic incident on National Sports Day, as a class 7 student named Anish Oraon lost his life during a sports event. Anish, a student of the upgraded middle school in Dadah, was taking part in the event when he was struck by lightning. The accident occurred in the afternoon while the students were engaged in various sporting activities. The event was taking place at UMS Dhara when the sudden downpour led to lightning and thunder.

Anish, originally from Ranchi, sustained severe injuries from the lightning strike and was rushed to Sadar Hospital. Unfortunately, the medical team declared him dead upon arrival. His grandmother accused the school teachers of negligence, alleging that they failed to take necessary precautions during the event.

Despite the tragedy, no other student was harmed in the incident. School staff and students immediately rushed Anish to the hospital, where doctors confirmed his demise. Chatra SDPO Sonny Vardhan confirmed that the incident was an unfortunate one, with no other student affected.
