ISRO Recruitment 2026: Applications Open For 175 Scientist/Engineer ‘SC’ Posts At isro.gov.in; Check Eligibility And Salary

The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) has announced the opening of applications for 175 Scientist/Engineer 'SC' positions in Electronics, Mechanical and Computer Science engineering. The recruitment process is being managed by ISRO's Centralised Recruitment Board (ICRB) under Advertisement Number ISRO:ICRB:03(EMC):2026, effective from August 27, 2026.

Interested candidates can submit their applications via the ISRO website from the 27th of August to the 16th of September, 2026, with the last submission deadline being 11:55 PM on the 16th. The roles are classified under Level 10 of the Pay Matrix, offering a minimum basic salary of ₹56,100 per month, supplemented by various allowances and benefits.

In total, there are 175 vacancies available for these Scientist/Engineer 'SC' positions, specifically 99 for Electronics, 52 for Mechanical, and 21 for Computer Science. Additionally, there are 1 vacancy each for Electronics at the PRL (Point Rockets Laboratory), Mechanical at the PRL, and Computer Science at the PRL. It is important to note that the number of vacancies is provisional, and ISRO reserves the right to adjust the number based on their requirements, with any such changes being communicated through a corrigendum on the official ISRO website.

To be eligible for these positions, applicants must possess a BE/BTech or equivalent degree in their respective field with a minimum of 65% marks or a CGPA of 6.84/10. For Electronics, this would be in Electronics & Communication Engineering; for Mechanical, it would be in Mechanical Engineering; and for Computer Science, it would be in Computer Science Engineering. All candidates must have completed their degree within the prescribed duration of the course as outlined by their respective universities.

Additional qualifications include adherence to specific CGPA and percentage rules. If a degree certificate or consolidated marksheet provides both CGPA and percentage, at least one of these metrics must meet ISRO/DOS requirements. Should only CGPA be mentioned, the CGPA itself must meet the prescribed eligibility criterion. Candidates should be cautious about their academic records, as they cannot convert CGPA into percentage for eligibility purposes, even if their university offers a conversion formula.

Furthermore, candidates holding dual or integrated degrees will have their applicable graduation-level CGPA or percentage considered according to the rules stipulated in the notification.

The age limit for applicants is capped at 28 years, with specific age relaxations applicable to serving Central Government civilian employees, ex-servicemen, and Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD). PwBD reservation is extended to candidates with at least 40% of the relevant disability. Applicants with PwBD categories A to E are encouraged to apply for the designated vacancies.

Should vacancies for PwBD categories arise without sufficient qualified candidates, ISRO has the flexibility to transfer these vacancies among the five specified disability categories.

The application fee for this recruitment round is structured into two parts: a non-refundable application fee of ₹250 and an initial processing fee of ₹750, which must be paid by all candidates. Candidates who are exempt from paying the application fee include women, candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes (SC), Scheduled Tribes (ST), Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD), and ex-servicemen.

For those who take the Written Test/Computer Based Test (CBT), a full refund of the ₹750 processing fee will be provided to eligible candidates, while a partial refund of ₹500, after deducting the ₹250 application fee, will be given to other candidates. Refunds will not be issued to candidates who do not participate in the Written Test/CBT.

The application fee can be paid online through the Bharatkosh e-Payment gateway, utilizing internet banking, UPI, or domestic debit cards.

Applicants must prepare and upload clear scanned copies of all required documents as part of their online application. This includes a recent colour passport-size photograph in JPG/JPEG format, preferably within 100 KB to 200 KB; a signature in JPG/JPEG format, ideally within 80 KB to 150 KB; and any applicable SC/ST/PwBD/ex-servicemen certificates for the processing fee exemption.

The photograph should be recent, preferably against a light-coloured or white background. The signature should be made on white paper using black ink and should not be in capital letters. All original documents pertaining to the applicant's qualifications, age, category, and other claims should be retained for verification at later stages.
