‘I urge others to speak up’: Ex-Pak cricketer's emotional appeal for Imran Khan

Former Pakistani cricket star Moin Khan has launched an emotional appeal for his former teammate and world-renowned leader Imran Khan, urging authorities to ensure the 73-year-old receives proper medical treatment while incarcerated. Moin, a key member of Pakistan's World Cup-winning side under Imran, released a video message on Saturday, expressing his concerns over the deteriorating health of the 1992 World Cup-winning leader. The plea came shortly after fellow cricketer Javed Miandad made an impassioned appeal for Imran.

Moin emphasized the importance of honoring Imran's right to medical care, stating that as a former prime minister and citizen of Pakistan, his well-being should be a top priority. He also called on fellow cricketers to publicly support Imran, acknowledging his immense contribution to Pakistan cricket. The concerns over Imran's health have intensified in recent months, with reports of medical issues and allegations of inadequate medical care while he has been incarcerated at Adiala jail in Rawalpindi since 2023.

Former Pakistan captain Imran Khan was convicted in corruption cases and continues to deny the allegations. The Pakistan Supreme Court recently ordered that Imran be taken to a hospital for medical examinations, which he was briefly taken to before being returned to prison. Cricket legends such as Greg Chappell and Pat Cummins have also expressed growing concerns over Imran's condition, with Chappell noting that the 73-year-old former captain does not look well and struggles to move around.
