GWL restores water supply to parts of Western Accra

Ghana Water Limited (GWL) has successfully repaired a damaged 500mm-diameter main pipeline, restoring water supply to numerous communities in Western Accra. A press release on August 29 revealed that the pipeline was damaged during excavation works conducted by AVERCO Construction Ltd., causing temporary water supply disruptions to several communities, including Mallam, Darkuman, Nshorna, Machetato, Korle Bu, Mamprobi, Dansoman Township, and Chorkor.

GWL's engineers and technical staff worked tirelessly to fix the damaged section and restore water to the affected areas. However, the company has warned that some customers might still experience low pressure or intermittent water flow as the distribution network stabilizes. GWL has urged residents to exercise patience and allow the water pressure to fully stabilize.

The management expressed gratitude to affected customers for their cooperation and acknowledged the support of other stakeholders in completing the repair work in a timely manner. Those still facing issues with their water supply are advised to contact GWL through its official channels for assistance.
